Welcome to the home of the Hawaiʻi Recreation & Parks Society!

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our organization strives to:

  • Unite all recreation and park professionals and persons interested in promoting and providing recreation and park services and programs in one body.
  • Bring about the Aloha Spirit within this body, and create a climate conducive to the recruitment of professionals and persons interested in the field of recreation and parks.
  • Provide other charitable assistance within the recreation community for the advancement of the profession.
  • Provide a service to the community through special events, such as:
    1. The "July is Parks & Recreation" Poster Contest for children,
    2. The Silver Streaks Walk & Haiku Contest for senior citizens.

All Board Members and Officers are unpaid volunteers.

  • Access to our Lending Library (Viewable to members-only). Lending Library contains many items to enhance quality recreation programming!
  • Having a special event an need extra support? Members may ask our executive board members to provide support. This service is provided to current members and is open state-wide. Requestors must contact us at hrps@hawaiirecreationparksociety.com at least 2 months prior to event and may be asked to present their request at a future board meeting.
